Hmm Think this a question for a Guru ? Spyware/Virus Issue - Scratch your head...?

I have XP PC with all security updates etc - and have been running latest spyware doctor - Spyware %26 Virus Checker, had issues with pop up %26 Web sites appearing when in IE 6 (Now on version 7) - so ran bit defender as a doube backup and it found and eradicated a trojan horse - so far so good - ran bit defender again and said it was clean, but after restart it keeps doing the same, so cleaned out all temp files - ran avast virus checker and all clear (Inc memory scan on statrtup) als ran spyware doc %26 AVG - again they all report no problems (Done a complete sacn with them all) - Firewall is on Internest security settings are on medium high , and as far as i can tell it should be ok - but aint - running `ie still opens web pages at random 888.com being one of them amongst others, so ran MS config - disabled all startup programs still no luck ! - Eeek - B4 anyone suggests re-formatting the drive - i aint a problem doing that, but i am keen to find out what is causing this problem ! These days you need a whole lot more than just a virus protection. Only about 15% of all malware is viruses. The rest is worms, trojans, phishing schemes, spyware, etc.
