My internet keeps on disconnecting by itself, what could be causing it?

I'm using a cable modem and this problem started only recently. After switching on the computer for about an hour or so, my internet would suddenly lose connection and the only way to fix it is to switch off everything and on again later. If it's not my internet provider's fault, then what is causing this to happen? I'm using Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware SE, Avast! Antivirus, Spy Sweeper, and I defrag my computer once a week.

This is most likely due to Malware (computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, and other malicious and unwanted software). You will need to run full anti-virus/spyware scan and clean your registry. I recommend you use these programs (they are free).
