Let me give you some background info to get you up to speed on my issue so someone can help:
I work for a small business. I am about to have to move, but I need to keep tabs on the computer I used in order to update our company website from a remote location.
To do this, I have installed LogMeIn to access the computer. However, the computer is shared. I installed a web blocker that is set to block explicit sites and to monitor all activity on the web. I have found some Porn sites blocked and repeated attempts to access them, so now I'm trying to track down whodunnit. I installed "Actual Keylogger" to keep track of the activity, but my Avast! antivirus keeps registering a "Win32: Trojan-gen" each time I run the Keylogger. What is it, and what do I do? What antivirus is good or keylogger is best to avoid this problem? and What is that trojan? HEEELLLPPP!
If you can't help, but you know someone who can, PLEASE EMAIL THEM A LINK SO THEY CAN ANSWER!!! Thanks
Win32: Trojan-gen?suzuki
Well most AV programs will see a keylogger as a virus, you have to create a rule for it to prevent such alerts in the future. And NOD32 is probably the best AV solution right now IMHO.
Win32: Trojan-gen?virus
Win32:Trojan-gen.(Avast AV name) - a Backdoor Trojan horse that allows a compromised computer to be used as a Web proxy. This Trojan also attempts to steal cached passwords from an infected computer.
1. Trojans corrupt system restore.
2. Turn off system restore %26 then run AV.
3. Get a better AV - running a small business I would recomend Nod32.
Since Avasti gave the suspected intrusion a name, I would wonder if your keylogger isn't surreptitiously sharing its fruits with others than just you.
You should be able to add an exception for that particular product or temporarily disable AVAST! while running the scan.
