My screen keeps scrolling up and down by itself..help!!?

I have avast! installed and it doesn't detect any virus..my OS is vista ultimate..Sometimes this problem is not there..but sometimes it comes all of a sudden..what should i do?

This could be a problem with your mouse or even your keyboard if you have a scorller on it. Try using a different mouse and see if that helps. Also try using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox to see if the problem lies there.

avast antivirus the free one, if i use this and browse internet with firefox and have windows fifewall on should i be ok 4 buying on ebay and such. i used norton internet security for the last year and have been fine.

I use Avast, got windows firewall and uses Firefox. I dont get any problems, just make sure ur antivirus VPS file is kept up to date and scan files you download and perform a full scan weekly. Make sure u have sum antispyware programs installed as well. Follow this and you should be fine.
I use Norton Internet Security and that's all and I've had no problems and I've had computers for a good 16 years.
If you have been using Norton for the past year then I am not sure why you would want to change your setup just to go on the cheap.

I uninstalled Road Runner from my laptop but It has attached itself to the IE browser. I've tried spybot and ad-aware but nothing seems to be working. I also have avast antivirus.

It is not that Road Runner is in your browser but rather it was branded with their information. You can run the utility to remove branding from IE and Outlook express.

you can do this manually

Go to Start, choose Run, and type or paste ''rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,Clear'' without the quotes.

Hit Enter.

Open a browser window and there should not be any branding showing.

expand each entry w/ + sign until u get to main then in right pane remove road runner

How do you mean it is attached to your browse. Is it a tool bar on it? If so you can go to Add\Remove Programs (control panel), locate it and uninstall it there. If it is the homepage, just pick a new one, go to it, click on Tools, Internet Options and click ''use current'' to change your homepage.

try the a2 (a squared) programme its free for 30 days and found loads of stuff on my computer. Also spybot search and destroy is good or windows defender.

use AVG anti spyware, its free and will get rid of most , also spyware blaster is good to stop u gettin it in the first place.
There are 2 types of internet threats: virus and spyware.

avast only removes antivirus.

i know 2 very good free softwares for spyware.

I have the latest Adaware, by Lavasoft, but it restarts my PC during scans... which is very annoying. Old versions of Adaware were ok... any suggestions?
