What's a good free antivirus program?

Since AVG Free isn't going to be along for much longer, and I don't want to pay for the pro, what other program is there? I used Avast and find it too slow.

I think Avast is a very good one. It is not that slow. It is far more lighter than norton.
Avg and avast are both good.
The last one I came across was the "One always gets what one pays for". Remember that!

Any way, go to www.pcworld.com and look in their reviews library for security programs. I know they had a real informative article about security programs a couple of months ago.

free AV, Firewall and Verification Engine
http://spywareterminator.com is an excelent free program. -includes-anti virus-real time protection-HIPS and does a much better job than avg.
