What would you recommend doing for massive amounts of pop-up windows?

I'm running on Windows XP with a DSL hookup. I do not have to even be surfing the net for internet Explorer to open dozens of windows that looks to be Spanish--I can't read it, but I'm guessing- adult sites. I've scanned my system for viruses using Avast and I've quarantined some viruses and trojans, but it didn't stop the pop-ups. I've installed the Yahoo! toolbar and set the pop-up blocker to the highest security setting. Anything any of you can recommend?

downlaod and run ad-aware, will delete the ones that get thru

You can download AVG 7.1 Anti-virus for free off of the internet. I did a few days ago. I ran 3 other ad aware %26 spy sweeper programs %26 they didnt find anything. But I downloaded AVG %26 it found 38 the first time! I am not sure what the website is that you download it from but you can try to google it. If you cant find it just let me know %26 I will look it up. Hope this help you out!

First of all, you need to clean out your computer. I recommend AdAware and Spybot, both of which are available for free at download.com. Run Spybot, then AdAware, then Spybot again.
