Would having two anti-virus programs installed on my computer be the reason that it's acting fu

I have Avast Anti-Virus and AVG Free installed on my computer. I don't use AVG, and it's been disabled, but it's still on my computer. Could that be the reason that it's acting so crazy? It runs slowly if I have more than two programs open, and sometimes programs just act funny when I try to use them. It has over 600 MB of memory, so I don't think it's a memory problem.

antivirus datbase is loded in the memory so evry programme u open will be scanned twice and if the same file of an application is scanned by the antivirus software it will act funny

Yes, You should only ever have one anti-virus program loaded on your computer at a time. You may have additional tools like anti-spyware, pop up blockers, spam- blockers and anti adware if they are compatible. But you should never have to antivirus programs at once. I reccomend removing both and then reinstalling then one you want.
yes u need to unistall one of em coz they are cancellin each ather
yes u are right always install only one antivirus on your system because it is activated when you start yoyur pc so the registry conflict with each other and system dont know which anti virus he should use so please uninstall any one antivirus
