Anti-virus Question?

my norton AV subcription has ran out, i was thinking about using avast! AV (FREE EDITION) or AVG AV(FREE EDITION) , which is better and what features do they have? CHEERS!

Anti-virus Question?free anti virus

I personally don't like to AVG one (seems tele-tubby'ish to me).

I highly recommend Avira's Antivir which is free for personal use

Anti-virus Question?internet security software

For Norton read Not on. Norton(Symantec) is positively the worst piece of s**t disguised as software on the planet, not to overstate things , you understand! The freebie AVG anti-virus suite is very good and even better if you go for the subscription version. The free version of Zone Alarm firewall is excellent; it does the job quietly and efficiently in the background
AVG tends not to pick up as many viruses. I did a test on this. i got a hard drive riddled with viruses, mirrored it onto 4 hard drives and tested AVG, Avast!, McAfee and Norton.

AVG ranked worse, followed by Avast, then norton, with McAfee being the best.

The free ones normally have a daily update, whereas a paid one will normally be hourly updates or realtime, which means the virus definition will be downloaded to the system the second it is released. If paying, i would choose McAfee over Norton. I would actually never use norton. I once got a 2year subscription given to me but i still paid for McAfee.
